The Black Deek Band is named after The Black Deek Pond on Blackheath in the village of Wenhaston Suffolk close to The Star Pub. A mystical dew pond used by cattle farmers lined it with clay to help retain the water, Blackheath was used for tank practice in the Second World War returning the Deek to its original state .
